“The Adriatic between Late Antiquity and the Early Middle Ages: Northern and Central Eastern Adriatic Archaeological Perspectives"

The aim of the internation scientific encounter The Adriatic between Late Antiquity and the Early Middle Ages: Northern and Central Eastern Adriatic Archaeological Perspectives is to bring together scholars of various interests and proveniences, joined by their common interests in the Adriatic region and the timeframe of late antiquity and the earliest Middle Ages. On this occasion, our focus is on the eastern Adriatic, more specifically on its northern and central part, which we nevertheless wish to explore in comparison with its western coast, to trace common trajectories and understand this region with a more holistic approach. Apart from a day of lectures, the program includes two days of field visits to the town of Šibenik and relevant sites in its environs.
Hosted by the Šibenik City Museum, the Round table and workshop is co-organized by the Centre for Systemic Risk Analysis at the University of Warsaw, the Institute of Archaeology in Zagreb and its internal project SirAkt, the Institute of Archaeology at Cardinal Stefan Wyszynski University in Warsaw and the Šibenik City Museum.
