The Institute of Archeology is organizing a round table entitled "Roman pottery in an archaeological context—typology, chronology and distribution." This scientific meeting will provide an opportunity to investigate Roman pottery and their role in archaeological research in greater depth.
Dr. sc. Eleni Schindler Kaudelka will give the introductory lecture, which will focus on ceramic finds as key indicators for understanding economic, social, and cultural processes in antiquity.
The round table program includes:
- Lecture by Dr. sc. Eleni Schindler Kaudelka
- Practical part: a live overview of Roman ceramics and a discussion about the characteristics of different types of ceramics
- Interactive discussion on the chronological and spatial context of ceramic finds
Participation: All participants are invited to prepare a short presentation (up to 10 minutes) about the archaeological site they represent, focusing on pottery finds and their typology, chronology and distribution. This exchange will enable a deeper analysis of local specificities and a broader discussion of regional variations in Roman ceramics.
