Born on December 1, 1963, in Varaždin. She completed her primary and secondary education in Zagreb, and in 1988, she graduated Archaeology at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb. In 1992 she became a master of science and in 1999 a doctor of science at the same faculty. From 1989 until today, she has been employed at the Institute of Archaeology.

She was the leader of several scientific projects on topics dedicated to the Middle Ages (1997-2013 - four projects) and a program “Genesis and continuity of material culture of Croats“, which includes six scientific projects of the Institute of Archaeology (3 prehistoric, 2 ancient and 1 medieval), funded by the Ministry of Science of the Republic of Croatia (2010-2013). From 2017 to 2021, she is the leader of a competitive, interdisciplinary scientific research project with an international review "Iron production along the Drava River in antiquity and the Middle Ages: creation and transfer of knowledge, technology and goods" (acronym TransFER; funding Croatian Science Foundation).

She has led numerous archaeological field research projects (2016-2018 - systematic research of the Hlebine workshop complex; 2008-2014 - systematic research of the late antique and early medieval workshop complex Virje; 2002-2008 - systematic research of medieval sites in several positions in the vicinity of Torčec) and from 2005 to 2013 she has led protective archaeological excavations within the large infrastructural projects of Croatian motorway routes (2005 - Virovitica - Brekinja / 9000 m² /; 2013 Osijek - Jagodnjak / 3900 m² /).

She is the co-author of several museum exhibitions set up in the Koprivnica City Museum (2003 - "New archaeological research in Podravina"; 2011 - "Protective archaeology of multilayered sites Virje - Volarski breg" (2008, 2010), "Delovi – Grede 1"(1982); " Secrets of Iron "(2020)) and part of the permanent archaeological exhibition of the Museum Collection of POU Vrbovec entitled" Archaeological site Buzadovec-Vojvodice "(2013). She is the author of several scientific monographs, and a member of the scientific and organizational committee of the International Scientific Conference of Medieval Archaeology of the Institute of Archaeology, and one of the editors of several Proceedings of these symposia. In 2012, she won the annual "Josip Brunšmid" award of the professional association Croatian Archaeological Society for the scientific monograph "Podravina in the Early Middle Ages".

Her scientific interests include early Middle Ages, developed Middle Ages, settlements, ceramics, smelting workshops, smelting furnaces, iron ore processing.
