Ozren Novaković was born in Zagreb in 1986. After finishing high school, he enrolled in the Archaeology department at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Zagreb, where he earned his master's degree in 2011 with the thesis "Comparative Analysis of Roman Mortaria from Osijek and Sisak."
After his studies, he participated in numerous archaeological excavations as a site director, deputy director or archaeology documentarist at protective archaeological sites, mainly in Sisak and Osijek.
He specialized in Roman pottery from the area of the former province of Pannonia, with an emphasis on mortaria and amphorae as one of the elements for studying trade connections within the Empire.
He has been employed at the Institute of Archaeology since 2026 as an expert associate. He works in the ARHINDOKS Department on the preparation of archaeological field documentation, systematization, processing, and digitization of archival and new archaeological documentation.
