Diet in the past

Diet may reveal as much about the identity of a community as the language it uses. The form it takes depends on the natural and climatic factors influencing the local agricultural production. During the past  changes in habits apear, the introduction of a new dietary culture and an increase in trade in a variety of products. The interdisciplinary research that includes various archaeological and archaeometrical methods as well as experimental archaeology allows us to interpret the process from production to consumption of food.
