Kristina Turkalj, senior expert assistant
Kristina Turkalj was born in 1976 in Zagreb where she also completed her schooling. She graduated in Archaeology and History in 2003 at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb. She has been working at the Institute of Archaeology since 2006, and since 2012 as a senior expert assistant – documentalist.
She took part in numerous field investigations conducted by the Institute of Archaeology, as part of the expert team: Crikvenica-Igralište, Torčec-Cirkvišče, earthen fortification Gradina near Špišić Bukovica, Virje – Volarski breg, Buzadovec, mediaeval fortified town Vrbovec in Klenovec Humski, Suhopolje Kliškovac, Krapina Old Town, Voćin – church of the Visits of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Court of the Dukes of Ilok – Odescalchi Palace in Ilok, St. Lawrence's (Sv. Lovro) church near the village of Crkvara, Debela šuma near Stari Perkovci, Kiškorija South near Virovitica, Kiškorija North near Virovitica, Đota near Virovitica.
She performed the tasks of drafting archaeological documentation and general site plans, computer processing of archaeological documentation. From 2009-2014, she has been involved in the work of the editorial board of the annual journal “Annales Instituti Archaeologici“.
