Kristina Jelinčić Vučković was born in Split in 1977 and grew up in Postire on the island of Brač. After completing secondary school, she studied Archaeology and Italian Language and Literature at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb, where she graduated on the subject of “The Bunja site on the island of Brač“ in 2001. She completed her postgraduate and doctoral studies at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb. In 2005, she defended her Master's thesis “The topography of villae rusticae on the island of Brač”. She defended her doctoral dissertation “Roman pottery produced locally in the Croatian part of the Roman province of Upper Pannonia“ in 2009.

She joined the Institute of Archaeology in 2004 and currently works there as a senior expert assistant-documentalist. In 2011, she was appointed to the academic title of research associate. She participated as an associate in the research projects “The Mediaeval Archaeological Heritage of Croatia (5th-16th century)“ (2004-2006)“ and “The Mediaeval Archaeological Heritage of Croatia (5th-17th century)“ (2007-2013). As of 2014, she has been participating in the international “Bribir“ project as an expert for Roman pottery.

She is the recipient of three scholarships of the École française de Rome, where she spent time in 2011, 2012 and 2014. She managed several archaeological excavations and field surveys: Novo Selo Bunje, Voćin church of the Visits of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Orešac, Virovitica Kiškorija South, and as a crew member or deputy site manager at: Virje – Volarski breg, Crikvenica – Igralište, Suhopolje Kliškovac, Podšilo – Lopar, Ilok – Court of the Dukes of Ilok, Ilok – church of St. Peter the Apostle, Old Town of Ivanec, feudal town of Vrbovec, Zvonimirovo Veliko Polje, Vela Spila in Vela Luka, Gardun, Osijek – Filipovica, Starigrad on Hvar.

Her work of documentalist includes drafting archaeological documentation and drawings, photographic documentation, processing and digitalisation of archaeological documentation and archiving new archaeological documentation.

As a co-author, she participated in the organisation of the exhibitions: “Suhopolje – Kliškovac. From toponym to archaeological congnition“, Museum of Ancient Glass, Zadar (2012),”Kliškovac – Terezovac – Suhopolje, from toponym to archaeological cognition“, Suhopolje (2008), “The west Virovitica ring road“, Virovitica Municipal Museum, Virovitica (2007). She also participated in the exhibition “Current archaeological excavations in Croatia: Suhopolje-Kliškovac“, Voćin Church of the Visits of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Orešac (2010).

She is the desk and technical editor of the journal of the Institute of Archaeology “Annales Instituti Archaeologici“, she is a member of the Croatian Archaeological Society, Rei Cretariae Romanae Favtores, the Centre for Experimental Archaeology and the Study Group for Ceramics in Archaeology.

Her research interests are Roman pottery, villae rusticae, rural settlements, economy, trade, Roman glass bracelets, Dalmatia and Pannonia.
